This is amazing. Your pictures tell it all. This is going on my bucket list. Sooner rather than later while I can still walk. Thanks so much for sharing.
My wife and I went to Montgomery Bell(e?) Tennessee for fiddler Mark O’Connor’s 2nd Annual Fiddle Camp in 2005. Great fun and I got to play with some of the best fiddlers in the world. On the way home to Washington State we found ourselves unexpectedly smack in the middle of the World’s Longest Yard Sale. We spent the day wandering along through Tennessee and Kentucky, stoping in every town along the way. What a blast!
Yes I stumbled upon part of it in my days of Harley. Don't remember what parts we joined in but boy was it fun and HOT in our riding gear. We spent as much time as heat would let us & only had room for a few small items but I never forgot the experience.
As you say the beautiful people you meet and food is something to write home about! I've always wanted to take the truck & cooler clothes & go back. Maybe one day it will happen again. A delightful experience you never forget!
That's a long time lady. I think it would be enjoyable even since no more Harley days. That was hard to give up. But life goes on....at least in the truck I can carry a lot more. Stuff I certainly don't need!! 🤣
I have heard of it but have never gone. I know me and I'd need a semi-truck to get all my purchases home. And, I'd eat my way through the entire trip. Thanks for making this such an interesting post. It would be a great trip. Maybe I will go someday. Enjoy!
We have pulled a trailer many years and rented the u-hauls before . One year we bought so much just in the Mentone , Alabama area, we came back home to unload and return the next day North bound for more stuff, lol!
Wow! I hear about this every year- but have never been. It’s on my bucket list- I would love it. Thanks for the story & great pics!
You are so welcome. Plan it. It is a wonderful adventure.
Wow! 690 miles of yard sale?!? Bring a truck and tent! 🛻 ⛺️
Yes big truck, trailer or u- haul! It is so fun.

Yeah, I've traveled in the American South in my youth.
Older but wiser, as they say.
And $50 for that door?
No wonder they don't make them anymore. 😄
Plane that down and make a dining room table. It would be interesting to see what's under all that age.
Wonderful idea
It would be beautiful
Great story!
The ports potty advice is spot on!

You should! It’s become our vacation time sorta even though it’s like u said a hot long journey.
But if u plan your rest stops and take your time it’s a memory in the making. I have journaled our 28 year trips.
